Was fortunate enough to be in Monaco for business just as the new Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort was opening its doors. The first hotel built by the incredible Societe des Bains de Mer in more than 75 years, this is a completely different experience from their famous Hotel de Paris (5 stars) or Hotel Hermitage (4 stars).
MC Bay is a four star hotel laid out like many luxurious resorts we are used to in the United States, lush garden walkways, enormous sand bottomed lagoon, inside/outside swimming pool, Jacuzzis everywhere, and a spa with services to die for.
The usual high-end fitness centre is there, along with stunningly designed conference rooms with all the bells and whistles any corporate meeting needs. This is the only hotel of its kind along the Riviera , Italian or French, and its just plain beautiful.
The staff is excellent and attentive and the rooms offer views of the Mediterranean that take your breath away. The bed was to my taste and I haven't slept better in a hotel bed anywhere. My colleague and I thought we were going to be coming in a few days after opening but in fact, we turned out to be the first guests. In fact, the staff and hotel direction took every opportunity to ask us what we needed and what we thought about their new baby.
