General information
Spanning the River Danube, the combined history and renowned healing waters of Buda and Pest date back thousands of years, to long before their merger in 1873. High on the Danube’s west bank, historic Buda reveals cobblestoned streets, medieval castles and churches, and glorious views. On the east bank, the commercial centre of Pest offers a rich palate of architecture, from Renaissance to modern, and superb shopping. Covering an area of 525 square kilometres (203 square miles), Budapest is home to two million people. It is also a culture-lover’s dream, with elegant cafés, eclectic architecture, inspiring art collections, a multitude of museums and a lively theatre scene.
Beyond the city, attractions within easy reach of the Hotel include Margaret Island, the artists’ colony of Szentendre, and Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe.

Nightlife
Great outdoor entertainment and late night drinking spots can be found here. Budapest does not sleep (much) on summer weekend nights. July, August are prime months to enjoy parties on the river side or visit the most popular spots.
