European F1 Grand Prix 2012
Valencia, Spain
22 - 24 June
Spain will be the host of two out of the twenty F1 races this year, one in Barcelona and the other in Valencia. The Valencia Grand Prix circuit joined the Formula One calendar in 2008 and it still retains a novelty factor for the teams, drivers and fans.
The harbour-side 5.4km street track winds its way around the marina and the glamorous Mediterranean city provides a stunning backdrop. Drivers can reach top speeds of 300 km/h and with 25 turns, this circuit challenges them to the maximum.
Sebastian Vettel currently holds the lap record of 1:37.587, which he set during the 2010 European Grand Prix. Can anyone beat his record this year?
Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and the traditional dish which originated from here is the worldwide known Paella. Not only does Valencia offer fans and spectators a spectacular Formula One race, but the city has much more to tempt you here with a wide choice of hotels, fantastic restaurants and night-life, sunshine, beaches, shops, architecture, museums and of course the vibrant, much loved Mediterranean culture.
