Singapore Formula One Grand Prix
24 - 26 September 2010 in Singapore

Singapore F1 Grand Prix
:: Track Information

1. What is the minimum age for spectators?

Singapore GP Pte Ltd reserves the sole and absolute discretion to refuse to admit to the Circuit Park (or sell tickets for use by) any person below the age of four (4) years. All Spectators require a seat and children sitting on laps is strictly not allowed. SGP strongly advises that children under seven (7) should not attend the FORMULA 1™ Singapore Grand Prix for safety and operational reasons.  Children below the age of seven (7) will only be admitted if the parent/guardian signs a letter of undertaking to indemnify SGPPL from any liability arising from their decision to bring children under 7. This letter can be obtained from our website, or our ticketing assistance counters at the Circuit Park.  Any person under 18 years of age must be accompanied and supervised at all times by his or her parent or guardian.

2. Why can’t I bring my child under 7?

By the nature of the motor sport there are numerous factors that make the admission of children under 7 undesirable. For example, the vehicles used in the Race can generate noise of up to 130 decibels (db). Exposure to any noise greater than 120 db can cause permanent hearing damage to young children.

3. Are there discounted rates for students and children?

Single-day concessions are available for youths (aged seven to 15) and seniors (aged 60 and above). The youth and senior concession offers an approximately ten percent discount, with the tickets priced at S$34 for Friday, S$52 for Saturday and S$98 for Sunday. Youths and seniors will have to present proof of age upon entering the circuit.

Each person can buy up to eight tickets (a combination of full price and concession tickets) per transaction. This is to ensure that the race is available to as wide an audience as possible.

Please note that any person under 18 years of age must be accompanied and supervised at all times by his or her parent or guardian.

4. Will there be any youth/senior concession for the three-day pass?

No there will not be any youth/senior concession for the three-day pass. This is because the three-day passes are already discounted by at least 20% compared with buying separate day passes.

5. Will I be able to see the race clearly, without any obstruction, with my walkabout tickets?

Spectators in the walkabout areas can in some cases get closer to the cars than the spectators in grandstand seats, as walkabout spectators are standing about 3 or 4 metres away from the edge of the track.

Whilst the barriers lining the circuit are over 4 metres in height, the concrete and triple guardrail that makes up the lower portion of the barrier are only a metre tall. The rest of the protection consists of a steel wire mesh fence that you can see through clearly.

To ensure that spectators get a great view of the race, there will be a number of bleachers located along some of the prime trackside viewing locations around the walkabout areas.

6. Are there any plans for single-day passes for grandstand tickets?

There are currently no plans to release single-day grandstand tickets. This may be reviewed upon tickets still being available in the weeks before the race.

7. What do I have to present as proof of age?

You can present any form of photo identification to the security staff at the gates upon entering the circuit.

8. My child is currently 6 years old and will be 7 years old on Race Day. Is the youth concession valid?

Yes, the youth concession is valid. Children below the age of seven (7) will only be admitted if the parent/guardian signs a letter of undertaking to indemnify SGPPL from any liability arising from their decision to bring children under 7. This letter can be obtained from our website, or our ticketing assistance counters at the Circuit Park.

9. What if my child is 16 years old by Race Day?

The youth concession still applies, as long as your child is 15 years old at the time of purchase.

10. I am currently 59 years old but I will be 60 years old on Race Day. Does the senior concession apply?

Yes, the senior concession applies.

11. I would like to purchase the tickets for my whole family, consisting of two adults, two children, and my grandparents. Does the concession rate still apply?

Yes, the concession still applies as long as it is up to 8 tickets per transaction.

12. What is there is heavy rain during event days? Will I get a refund?

In the event of inclement weather on any or all of the days of the Race, the Event Organizer shall have the sole and absolute discretion to delay or postpone the Race for that day, and if necessary, to cancel or abandon the Race. The Race may resume on the same day after such delay or postponement. Refunds will not be offered for cancellations that are for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control.

13. Are the Grandstands Covered?

All Grandstands are non-weatherproof and open to the elements. Patrons are advised to bring suitable clothing for protection from the weather. Singapore GP Ponchos (that are bundled with earplugs) are available for sale at the merchandising booths for only SGD$2. Profits on the sale will be donated to charity
